We are located opposite Holywood’s Church Road carpark –
about 150 yards up from the well known ‘Maypole’.
Originally established by the grandfather of today’s senior
partner, there was (due to retirement) little other than the name
of the original business remaining when the old Belfast practice
was re-established in Holywood in 1989.
Until recently a partnership between father (Eric Lowry B.A., LL.B.,
F.C.A.) and son (David Lowry MSc., A.C.A.) the practice has now
been incorporated in line with the trend to restructure accounting
practices either as limited liability partnerships (LLP’s)
or limited liability companies. This does not in any way effect
the requirement for all chartered accountants in professional practice
to maintain professional indemnity insurance cover.
Practitioners: -
ERIC LOWRY. An honours graduate in law from Trinity College Dublin,
having completed his chartered accountancy qualifications in 1965
spent twenty five years in financial and general management and
returned to professional practice in 1989 after selling his interest
in a manufacturing company acquired in 1982 in a management buy
out.
DAVID LOWRY. Studied languages at University College London before
working for several years in London and then in Perth, Australia.
He returned to Ireland and qualified as a chartered accountant in
1998 with particular expertise in taxation, he has now additionally
completed his MSc. in computing and information systems. This latter
qualification in an area of special interest makes David particularly
well qualified to provide advice and support in computer matters
in general but in computerised accounting systems in particular.
